Nov 30, 2018 | New Configurable Notification Group Roles
Different members of a group can now be given different menu options by configuring Notification Roles
Overview | ||
Notification items are sent out to groups of users. Each group member has the same menu options by default, but this menu can now be configured on a member by member basis.
There are currently 5 roles in Latitude, the "Can Acknowledge" and "Backstop" roles are configurable, while the "Can Accept", "Can Decline" and "Can Complete" roles are always available to all group members.
"Can Acknowledge" is usually given to supervisors and team leads that need only be notified that a particular work process item is in the queue, but who do not actually perform any work on it. They therefore only need to "acknowledge" they have seen the item. In cases where nobody accepts a particular item, eg. everyone notified either acknowledged or declined the item, a "Backstop" employee will be notified of this in order for them to either update, re-assign or close the item
Menu options: | ||
Acknowledge - Acknowledge an item and optionally enter a reason. Once acknowledged, the item is removed from the notification list. Acknowledged items re-appear in the users item list when the item is updated ie. when status, subject, date etc are changed
Accept - Sets the current logged-on user as the "owner" of the item. Other staff who were originally notified about the item no longer receive notifications about this item after the "owner" accepts it
Decline - Prompts the user to enter a reason, sets the notification item status to "Declined" and removes the item from the current user's list. Other staff will still continue to receive the same notification until they all either accept or decline it. If nobody accepts the item, the responsible person (ie. backstop) will be notified so they can update, re-assign or close the item
Complete - Once a user who accepts and item is finished working on it, they change the item to "completed" after which the item is removed from their notification list
Open Item - Opens the item normally
